Vyansa celebrates Sung's goal

Male', MALDIVES - Vyansa, under their new coach Marzooq, came from one goal down to beat Valencia by 3 – 1 in today’s Dhiraagu Dhivehi League encounter. The defeat sends Valencia four points behind table leader New Radiant at the end of round one and Vyansa marked their position at the top four.

In a very even half, both teams created chances to take the lead but it was Felix who gave Valencia the lead in the 33rd minute from a penalty. Shuaib was the culprit of the incident, as his foul on Felix lead to the penalty decision.

Prior to the penalty, a shot from Felix was blocked by the opponent defenders.

Kofi, Imthiyaz and Sung troubled Valencia in their attempts and took only six minutes to find the equalizer from Shuaib’s shot.

Early in the second half, Vyansa shocked the inform Valencia from Solah’s goal, which he scored beating his markers and keeper Rameez’s dive to deny the effort was helpless.

Valencia increased their tempo after Vyansa’s second goal but Vyansa kept their form untouched and in the 62nd minute Sung gifted his first goal to Vyansa to make it 3 – 1. With two defenders tightly marked by him, Sung showed a cool finish to glue the ball into the back of Valencia’s net.

Valencia created couple of chances in the last 20 minutes of the game through Felix and Mukthar, but failed to hit the target.

After the match Valencia coach (Binma) Abdullah Waheed blamed players who missed the chances and said he is not happy about the result and the performance. He also criticized players for their absence in the practice sessions.

‘I am not happy about our performance today, especially not happy about those players who missed many chances’ He started.

‘The difference between our previous matches and recent matches is the discipline’

‘Some players spend two or three days without attending the practices’

‘We also missed the absence of James and Andy in today’s game’ He added.

Vyansa’s new coach Marzooq, brother of previous coach Nizam, said during his two days at the helm he explained the players the importance of today’s game. He also added he worked closely with his brother before so the task of a coach is not a difficult job for him.

‘ I got two days to handle the team and I explained the players the importance of today’s game’

‘I told them unless we win today’s game we will not be able to get a good result in remaining games’

‘When Nizam (Brother) was in charge of Vyansa, I worked with him closely. I did monitor many practice sessions, so this is not a difficult task’

‘But felt some uneasiness to sit on the bench as a coach’ He added.

shame on valancia.. that means they are not concentrating about the league.. if they want the league they have to play well in the second round otherwise may be they may not even get 4th place..its coz of lack of dicipline and concentration to the match.. the forwards need to finsih the chances they get..
best of luck for second round....
